Dr. Sanjeev. V. Athani. Is a resident of Powai since early childhood, when Powai was a small village in the suburb of Bombay (now Mumbai). His mother, Dr. Shyamala Athani was the only practicing family doctor of the area then. After completing his education, he started his family practice at Ghatkopar. It was a time when patients of Powai needed to travel all the way to Ghatkopar or Bhandup for getting blood tests and X-rays done. Public transport was erratic and patients often spent the whole day in blood testing or for x-rays.
